Everyone loves to eat at restaurants occasionally. There is something immensely appealing about having someone else cook you something delicious and not having to worry about helping with washing the dishes later. I happen to live in one of the best restaurant testing grounds in the country, so I am always eager to try new restaurants when they open in my area. When I travel, the availability of good restaurants that serve fresh local foods is more important to me than what concerts and sporting events are going on. The only thing that I dislike about my restaurant adventures is the cost of the bill at the end of the night. Fortunately, there are a number of great websites that have restaurant deals available all of the time for restaurants across the nation. Here are some of my favorites.
Restaurant.com
Restaurant.com is one of my favorite websites for restaurant deals because they always have discounted gift certificates for a wide variety of restaurants in every major city you can think of. My favorite offers are typically $10 for a $25 gift certificate or $20 for a $50 gift certificate restaurant deals. Once you have chosen the deals you want to purchase, you can either print out the gift certificate to take with you when you go to the restaurant or carry the gift card electronically using the Restaurant.com mobile app. These gift certificate do have some specific limitations, like minimum purchase requirements, and expiration dates, typically one year from the purchase date. Review these restrictions before purchasing so you know exactly what the deal entails.
LivingSocial
LivingSocial is another great website for finding restaurant deals. The website lists dozens of restaurants, cafes and eateries that are offering deals through the company. You can put in the zip code of the city you live in or the city you are planning on visiting and LivingSocial will display specific deals for different restaurants in that area. Unlike Restaurant.com’s standard gift certificate amounts for all restaurants listed, the gift certificates on LivingSocial are for whatever the restaurant wants to advertise, whether it’s a discount on a purchase or a special price for a specific item. LivingSocial also has offers for discounted entertainment and amusement tickets listed for each city.
Groupon
Groupon has a wide variety of restaurant deals available, including discounts, prix fixe menus, and package deals on dinner and drinks. These deals generally have a time limit, so if you want to get them, you have to get them fast. One of the best things about Groupon deals is if you do not use the deal by the time it expires, you can use the amount paid towards another deal purchased at a later date.
