When you sign up for Amazon’s Firestick service, you can access thousands of TV shows, movies, live streaming channels and events, and sports programming. However, you have to pay for access to Firestick, Fire TV, Fire TV Cube, and Fire TV Stick 4K. Or, specifically, access to Hulu, Netflix, Amazon Prime, and other online entertainment streaming services. However, there are ways to get free movies on Firestick.
How to Get Free Movies on Firestick
The average cost of a Firestick might be $30 to $40. On top of that, you will have to pay for any subscription to the streaming entertainment services available on Firestick. This adds up over time. If you are like me, you are watching every cent of your budget.
One way to get around paying for Firestick programming is through a process called, “jailbreaking.” Amazon’s Firestick programming restricts the downloading of unauthorized software that allows entertainment viewing without payment. Jailbreaking removes these restrictions and allows you to download third-party applications, like Kodi, that allow you to watch thousands of channels of online entertainment for free.
Think of jailbreaking as a kind of bending, but not actually breaking, of the law. The entertainment you’ll have access to will depend on the third-party streaming app that you download. You are basically watching films people download or share, so it may take days to watch something of visual quality. But, it’s free.
How to Jailbreak
Choose, “Settings,” from the home screen for Firestick on your remote. Then, click on, “Device,” or, “My Fire TV.” When you get to the next screen menu, open, “Developer Option.” You will see an option for “Apps From Unknown Sources.” Switch, “On,” or, “Enable.” When you are prompted to do so, click, “Turn On.” This process could take several minutes, but your Firestick should be jailbroken.
The next step is installing the Downloader App which is free and available from the Amazon App Store. Downloader allows you to install third-party apps after you jailbreak your Firestick. Instead of downloading directly, it kind of allows you to sideload apps indirectly. Click the, “Search,” option in the top-right corner of the Firestick home display.
Use the search screen and on-screen keypad to search for Downloader. Click on Downloader when you see it from the search results that appear. After clicking on the Downloader icon, click on, “Download,” when it appears on the next screen. It will take several minutes or longer for it to download. Then, install it on Firestick and click on it to open it.
Then, all you have to do is type in the URL of a third-party free media application, like Kodi, into Downloader. Click on the “Home,” option on Downloader, and you will see an input field for typing in a URL. You can check websites like, “firestciktricks.com,” to find the latest Kodi URLs.
Extra Homework
This is the beginning of the process. You should check out some Youtube videos for Firestick jailbreaking and Kodi downloading. Also, keep in mind that these processes are updated continually. You should also remember that while jailbreaking a Firestick is not technically illegal, viewing pirated entertainment is. Your internet service provider and local police agencies are able to view your IP address in such circumstances. Tread carefully.
