The former President has again managed to create fierce backlash over his controversial comments during a speech made at a Black Conservative Federation event in South Carolina. At the event, Trump surmised that he was connecting with Black voters over his criminal indictments and the embracement of his mug shot.

Trump continued his rambling by alleging that each time the “radical-left Democrats, Marxists, communists and fascists indict” the former President, he considers it “a great, great badge of honor.” He then told the crowd he was indicted for them and the Nation. “I’m being indicted for you, the Black population. I’m being indicted for a lot of different groups by sick people,” Trump claimed.

After Trump’s remarks to the Black Conservative Federation, the DNC commented on Trump’s claims. Sarafina Chitika, a spokesperson for the DNC, stated, “This might come as news to Trump, but pushing tired tropes, wannabe Jordans, and mugshot t-shirts isn’t going to win over Black voters who suffered through record high unemployment and skyrocketing uninsured rates under his leadership,” as she took a dig at Trump’s recent Sneaker venture.

Very interesting as you see Black support eroding from Joe Biden,” Arroyo had made questionable remarks that “This is connecting with Black America because they love sneakers… This is a big deal. Certainly in the inner city.”
